Back again after a bit of a break. It was those Bang Bang Shrimp that brought us back. A quick lunch today with Bang Bang, and a French dip with fries to share and a side Caesar salad to even things out. The shrimps just keep getting better, fries and that dill dip are the best.. and a tasty salad for a bit of healthy. They even split the plate for us. Nice! Recommend. Bang Bang shrimp are inimitable. Many try, but these are the best. Also Brussels sprouts. Great menu, very nice staff. Great sharing options. Recommend. Back at State & Main Whitby for amazing Bang Bang Shrimp, Buffalo Chicken Wings, and shared French Dip. Great for lunch or dinner. Cool vibe, great staff. Remembered to take pics this time.
Subject: Exceptional Service on Mother's Day I frequently order takeout from State & Main, but on Sunday—Mother’s Day—I had the pleasure of dining in with my daughter (also a mom) and my granddaughter. We were served by Sydney, who was sociable, polite, respectful, and incredibly friendly. She truly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied throughout our visit. Sydney was also very knowledgeable about DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and was extremely accommodating to my dietary restrictions. Her attention to detail and genuine care did not go unnoticed. To top it off, the food was absolutely delicious—we both couldn’t stop raving about it! Because of this amazing experience, State & Main is now our go-to spot for dining out with friends and family. Thank you so much, Sydney, for making our day special!
I went to State & Main for a birthday party, they were great with the large party and everyone getting their food at the same time as well as all the individual bills. I got the Bangkok Noodle Bowl and it was so good! Sweet & savoury with a little kick. Highly recommend and would return again and to try something new.
We recently celebrated my wife’s 40th birthday here, and I can’t say enough about how incredible the experience was. From the moment I arrived early with balloons and seating cards, Josette and Kristen went above and beyond setting everything up perfectly and taking care of every detail without me having to ask twice. They made sure the tables were set beautifully, the balloons were placed thoughtfully, and our seating plan was handled with care. Our server, Carly, was outstanding. She managed our group of 20 with such ease, making sure the wine was served exactly how we requested and that everyone felt taken care of. The level of service we received from start to finish was exceptional, it honestly felt like they treated us like family. They even kept our cake in the freezer and brought it out just in time for the celebration. Every single guest commented on how great the service and atmosphere were. It’s rare these days to find such genuine care and attention to detail, and I had to take a moment to write this review because they truly made the night special for us and my wife was extremely happy! Thank you again, Josette, Kristen, and Carly you made a milestone celebration even more memorable.
I love almost every dish I’ve tried here. My absolute favourites are the Teriyaki Rice Bowl and the Jalapeno Mac and Cheese though. Honourable mentions to the Pretzel Bites too. One of my favourite restaurants in Whitby.
Great beer selection and other drinks. Great food! Also had burgers but they were gone so fast but let's talk about the dill sauce for the fries! Holy hecking !!
Bella was amazing, she made our anniversary special and even gave us the booth where we first met. It was perfect and the service was amazing. I don’t recall her name, shame on me, but she was also great asking a couple to move as I had reservations for that table and they were so great. All in all I highly recommend this place. And the bread pudding????? Oh my gosh is it delightful!! Just try it, trust me!
We absolutely loved it. A great experience, food and service at this location. We went on Valentine's Day and their 4-course meal was both satisfying and well priced. I got the shrimp pasta and my wife got the steak. The steak was a nice medium rare and the peach cocktail could feed two. I would definitely return.
